Les Irises Van Gogh Poster 91.5cm x 61cm (36" x 24")

Front

Product Description

Van Gogh began painting Irises within a week of entering the Saint Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France, taking his inspiration from the hospital garden. Describing painting as 'The lightning conductor for my illness', Van Gogh believed that it kept him from becoming mad. The Irises possess feelings of serenity and joy which are usually replaced by tension in many of his other works.
