The Lady of Shalott G E Robertson Print 82.4cm x 62.4cm (32" x 25")
British Art Print: Although little is known about the British artist G E Robertson, one thing is clear - his ability to produce astounding paintings is undeniable. This painting depicts the scene from Alfred, Lord Tennyson's poem "The Lady of Shalott" where she leaves the tower and finds a boat in order to float her way to Camelot. Sadly, she dies in the boat before reaching the palace and this painting shows the onlooker's reactions as she arrives at Camelot, and Lancelot comments on her beauty. This fantastic painting is full of incredible use of contrasting light and dark colours which enhance the feeling of elation from the onlookers and also dismay when they realise the tragedy. A wonderful art print of the famous 1900's painting.
