Product Description

Art Print: ‘Blaues Pferdchen' (Blue Horse) was painted by the German expressionist painter and print maker Franz Marc. Co-founder of Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider), Marc painted animals, especially horses, in a stylised manner and awarded them a spiritual aspect, something he craved for in his life. Blue Horse, painted in 1912, is bursting with bright primary colours; the colours are distorted as are the shapes which create an unusual sensation of space. The horse is painted blue and Marc used the colour blue to represent masculinity and spirituality. It gives you a forceful sense of emotion, warmth and simplicity.
