Airing from 1997 until 2003 Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a cult American television series created by Joss Whedon, under his production company Mutant Enemy. Buffy Summers, played by Sarah Michelle Gellar is a “Slayer” – one who is charged with the ancient mission of destroying vampires and demons and generally stopping evil with a sharp stick, a witty retort and a twirl of her short skirt. She is aided in this quest by her Watcher, Giles, played by Anthony Stewart Head, and her friends Willow, (Alyson Hannigan), Xander (Nicholas Brendon) and Angel (David Boreanaz).
