Print: Cartoon character Betty Boop was part of Max Fleischer's Talkartoon series and modelled on Helen Kane, the famous singer and actress; Betty's sexuality was toned down under the Production Code censorship laws enforced in 1934, resulting in longer skirts and a less revealing neckline; she however, still remains a cartoon sex symbol icon today.
