Special Midi Photography Poster:The Shimo Daigo shrine is one of the few structures in Kyoto to survive from the Heian period (794 - 1185); the city was initially constructed on a rectilinear grid-iron pattern, its name then Heian-Kyo was modelled on the Chinese capital city of Xian; from this picture it's seems hardly surprising that Kyoto and its glorious temples surrounded by trees of sumptuous autumn colours comes second only to Mecca as the most visited city in the world.
