Music Poster: Written by lyricist Robert Hunter and composed by lead guitarist Jerry Garcia, 'Dark Star' was a single released by American psychedelic rock band Grateful Dead. Initially released as a two minute single in 1968, 'Dark Star' was regularly performed at The Dead's concerts and thanks to the band's reputation for improvisation, changed a great deal over the years, with the longest version lasting for over 63 minutes.
