FAC51 Hacienda, Poster

Alternative Music Poster: Opened on Friday 21st May 1982, the Hacienda night club, with its stage, dancefloor, bar and DJ balcony, is a cornerstone of Manchester’s nightlife history. Given catalogue number FAC51 by it's owners, host DJ’s included Mike Pickering, Graeme Park and Dave Haslam, and there were live performances by star artists including Madonna, Culture Club, The Smiths, Oasis and Blur. Following problems with drugs and gang violence, the club was sadly closed in 1997 and eventually demolished completely in 2002, to be controversially replaced by a block of luxury flats. This poster is reminiscent of the Hacienda in its heyday, and all the exhilarating nights enjoyed inside.
