Spiritual Poster: In Buddhism, a Buddha is any being who has become enlightened; this means they have permanently overcome craving, aversion, delusion and ignorance. A Buddha is a being who has been completely liberated from suffering. The recognised ‘supreme’ Buddha of modern times is Gautama Buddha; however he is not seen as the only Buddha. In fact, it is said at least once in the Pali Cannon that Gautama Buddha is the 28th Buddha to have ever existed.
