The Nymph Galathea (detail with Cherubs), 1512-14, Mini Poster
Raphael

Size: 40x50 cm Mini Poster
Mini Art Poster: Detail from the top of ' The Nymph Galatea ' by Raphaello Sanzio Raphael. The full fresco was originally commissioned for the Villa Farnesina, Rome by the banker Agostino Chigi, it depicts the clumsy giant Polythemus singing a love song to the Fair Sea Nymph Galatea, with small boys using Cupids arrows aimed at Galatea’s heart; it is an idea taken from a poem by the Florentine poet Angelo Poliziano, and once again shows us the sublime technique and quality of Raphael's painting.
