Art Poster: Paul Gauguin 's Nevermore is in some sense a Post-Impressionist portrayal of Edouard Manet 's Olympia; both paintings hark back to a period in art known as High Renaissance, where artists such as Titian, Giorgione & Giovanni Bellini were painting; to some at the time it was felt these new artists were parodying the earlier art, but it wasn't the case, for Paul Gauguin 's he was simply using the old styles to emphasize his new radical painting.
