Art Print: Roy Lichtenstein was born on 27th October 1923 and died at the age of 73 on 29th September 1997. He was born in New York City, and during his artistic career, became one of the most popular and influential pop artists of the 20th Century. Two of his most famous pieces include 'Whaam', which is featured in the Tate Modern art galley in London, and 'Drowning Girl', which is on show at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
